Sree Rama Temple, located at Kadavallur in Thrissur district, is the famous temple known for the annual assembly of Rig vedic scholars – the Kadavallur Anyonyam. The main deity of this temple is a four-armed Vishnu who is worshipped here as Lord Rama, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. According to the Hindu calendar, Ekadasi, or Ekadashi, is a holy day observed by fasting on the eleventh tithi of each lunar month. There are two Ekadashi that occur each month: one on the eleventh lunar day of the waxing moon, known as Shukla Paksha, and the other on the eleventh of the Krishna Paksha (waning moon).
