Cochin Carnival

December 25, 2025 - January 1, 2026

The Cochin Carnival, Fort Kochi’s grandest celebration, is an electrifying two-week-long festival held annually in the last two weeks of December, culminating in a spectacular New Year’s Eve bash. Organized by the District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC), Ernakulam, the carnival begins with the Ceremony of Peace at the War Memorial, followed by the hoisting of the Carnival Flag at Vasco da Gama Square. The entire port city transforms into a visual delight, adorned with white paper decorations, resembling a gorgeous Christian bride. The festival’s vibrancy is amplified by an array of events, including fairs, cultural performances, food festivals, bike and cycle races, rallies, beach football, arts, and games, making it an unforgettable experience for visitors and locals alike.
