Arattupuzha Temple in Thrissur, believed to be over 3,000 years old, is famous for hosting the grand Arattupuzha Pooram, often hailed as the “Mother of all Poorams.” This spectacular festival, deeply rooted in tradition and devotion, reaches its peak excitement on the last two days. One of the most captivating events is Sasthavinte Melam, held on the evening before the final day, where beautifully caparisoned elephants parade to the rhythm of mesmerizing percussion performances such as Pancharimelam and Pandimelam. Another breathtaking highlight is Koottiyezhunnalippu, also known as Devasangamam, where 23 deities from various temples gather in a grand procession, creating a divine spectacle that draws thousands of devotees and cultural enthusiasts alike.
